Stirling
is steeped in history. Home to Stirling Castle, which towers
over the city, built
high up on a volcanic

the years. Mary Queen of Scots' son was baptised here. Another
Stirling landmark is the Wallace
Monument which dominates the skyline; commemorating William
Wallace’s battle at Stirling Bridge where he and his
men defeated the English in 1297. Another battle site close
by is Bannockburn, famous for Robert the Bruce’s
victory over the English in 1314.
Stirling is also home to the University of Stirling. And in
